Before a reading
Two job offers, or waiting to hear back:
how to ask tarot

"Will I get the job?" is a very common question. But while you wait to hear back, what keeps you up at night is often "and if I don't, then what?" Change the question a little and there is much more to read.
Two jobs: look at both paths side by side
When someone has two offers, I often use a simple spread: two cards each for A and B, one for "daily life once I choose it" and one for "what this path asks of me", and one last card for "what I really care about".
The fifth card is often the most useful. Many people realise at the end that what matters to them is the commute, the manager, or whether they'll learn something, with salary further down the list.
You could write it like this (an example): "Over the next six months, about Company A and Company B, in order to find a job I can stay in for a while, what will I meet in each? How should I choose?"
Waiting to hear back: questions more useful than "will I get it?"
"Will I get it?" has only two answers, and whichever the cards show, there isn't much you can do with it. While you wait, try asking:
- What can I prepare during this wait?
- If it doesn't work out this time, which direction should I look in next?
- Does this role really suit where I am right now?
After reading these, whatever the result, you have something you can do.
Wanting to leave, with nothing lined up yet
If you're still in your current job and unsure about leaving, start with "what is it here that I can't stand?" Once the reason is concrete, sometimes you find terms you can negotiate first, and sometimes you're surer it's time to go.
For more ways to ask, see Not sure what to ask at your first reading?, or write it out first with the question formula.
A one-on-one or a written reading
If you want to weigh two options back and forth and ask as you listen, a one-on-one reading works better. For a single question you want to keep and read slowly, choose Deep Focus, a written reading.
