Privacy and personal data notice

This explains what personal data is used for bookings and readings, what it's for, and how you can view or delete it. The notice below follows Article 8 of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act. The Chinese version is the official text.

Who collects it

Purpose of collection

To arrange and confirm bookings, provide readings, handle payments and refunds, and contact you before and after your booking. (Specific purposes as defined by Taiwan's Ministry of Justice: 069 contracts, quasi-contracts and other legal relationships; 090 consumer and customer management and services.)

Data collected

  • The name or nickname you enter when booking, your LINE ID or phone number, the topic you'd like to talk about (optional), and the plan and time slot you choose.
  • Online one-on-one and written readings: the name you usually go by (a nickname or your name) and the city you live in now. In-person readings need nothing in advance.
  • Payment records. Payments are handled by Portaly; credit card and other payment details never pass through this website.
  • Whatever you choose to share during a reading.

One-on-one readings don't need your birthday or birth time. This site has no forms of its own; clicking "book" takes you to a separate booking site where you enter your details.

Period, region, recipients and method of use

  • Period: booking and payment records are kept after the service is complete for the period required by tax, accounting and other regulations. What we talk about in readings isn't filed.
  • Region: Taiwan, and the locations of the service providers that help process data (which may include the United States and Japan).
  • Recipients: Pentacles Studio, and the providers that help deliver the service: Portaly (payments), Vercel (hosting for the website and booking system), Turso (booking database), Resend (booking notification emails), LINE (messaging) and Google (website traffic statistics).
  • Method: processed electronically, and used only for the purposes above.

Your rights

You can ask at any time, through the official LINE account, to view, read, copy, supplement or correct your data, and to have its collection, processing or use stopped, or have it deleted, except for data the law requires to be kept.

If you don't provide the data

Without the contact details needed for a booking, the booking can't be completed and I can't confirm the time and place with you.

Confidentiality

What we talk about in a reading is never made public. If I use a case in an article, I remove anything identifying and ask for your permission first.

This website

  • The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, where visitors come from, which pages they read and which buttons they click (such as LINE, booking or Instagram), so I can improve the content. Google Analytics stores cookies in your browser; the data is only looked at in aggregate, is not used for advertising and is never combined with your booking details. If you'd rather not be counted, use your browser's tracking protection or install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Your choice of day or night mode, study progress, custom card keywords and quiz records are stored only in your own browser.
  • The site's fonts are provided by Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google when they load.
  • The results of the free card draws are generated only in your browser and are never sent to me.
  • The question formula on the home page puts the text together only in your browser and isn’t sent to me. When you tap “Send it to me on LINE” or any other LINE link, LINE opens with a message already in the chat box; whether to send it is up to you.
